Ubah Hassan is looking toward her future with Mr. Connecticut. In a new clip from tonight’s episode of The Real Housewives of New York City, Hassan sits down with a fertility specialist to explore her pregnancy options.
“I’m 40. I know I don’t look 40. I look 21. My eggs are definitely 40,” Hassan tells the specialist in the clip, which was exclusively obtained by DECIDER.
While the model says she wants to try conceiving naturally like her mother did when she was in her mid-40s, she recently found out she has a fibroid “pushing into the cavity of the uterus,” which is making her nervous.
“I just feel like now I found my person,” she says, referring to her boyfriend Oliver Dachsel. “I want to try this with my age and this fucking fibroid is here. Like, why is it here at this time?”
Hassan further opens up about her diagnosis in her confessional, telling the cameras, “I’m actually embarrassed to say that I had no idea what fibroid was. Now that I’m learning about it, every time I tell someone, they’re like, ‘Oh, I had it. I suffer from it.’ There’s so much to not be scared of. We don’t have to suffer in silent.”
The clip ends with Hassan asking about the surgery, which, depending on the size and location of the fibroid, could take up to six months of recovery before she can begin trying for a baby. While there are medications as an alternate option, the specialist tells Hassan that they also have “contraceptive actions,” meaning she won’t be able to get pregnant while taking them.
Hassan previously revealed her plans to have a baby in the show’s Season 15 premiere.
“I never thought I wanted to have a baby. I’m a little spoiled when it comes to my sleep, when it comes to doing what I want to do, travel to Paris just to have dessert,” she said in the episode, per People. “But when I’m talking to Oliver at dinner time with a little candlelight, I’m like, ‘Yes, let’s do it.’ I don’t know, it just felt right. You’re good-looking, I’m good-looking. Let’s see if we can produce something.”
