Did ‘Outlander’ Just Kill Off Jamie? And Why is Claire Marrying Lord John Grey?
Last week’s Outlander Season 7 Part 2 premiere on Starz ended with Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin) cursing to see the face of Geillis Duncan (Lotte Verbeek). Besides dealing with the fact that he had time travelled far earlier into the past than he had intended to, Roger knows all too well that his family has the most twisted connections to Geillis. Geillis is not only Roger’s ancestor, but she’s also his time-traveling companion Buck MacKenzie’s (Diarmaid Murtagh) birth mother. Oh, and Geillis once made it her mission to murder Roger’s wife Brianna (Sophie Skelton).
Geillis doesn’t know any of this, though. In 1739 Scotland, she’s just a recent transplant from the 1960s, working on embedding herself in the timeline to change the future of Scottish history. She’s married to an old man and works as an herbalist.
So what happens when these three time-traveling family members collide? Awkwardness! In this exclusive clip from Outlander Season 7 Episode 10 “Brotherly Love,” see what happens when Roger and Buck find themselves in Geillis’s company. While the intuitive woman attempts to figure out what’s going on, Roger’s internal dialogue basically sums up what most Outlander fans are probably screaming at their screens.
“The audience will all be informed on each of those characters already, obviously from previous seasons,” Outlander star Richard Rankin told Decider during a recent interview. “So to see them come together, I think it’s just immediately kind of amusing, escapist fun.”
“What I’ve always really liked that about the character that she just is kind of wicked, you know?” Lotte Verbeek said about Geillis. “And so I got to revisit that.”
Will Geillis do right by her son and future ancestor? Or will she be back up to her wicked ways?
You’ll have to tune into Outlander Season 7 Episode 10 “Brotherly Love” on Friday, November 29 on Starz to find out.
