Game, set, match! Taking place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, the 2024 US Open is swinging for the stars. The qualifiers kicked off on Monday (Aug. 19), and Alicia Keys‘ “Kaleidoscope” — a song from her new Broadway musical Hell’s Kitchen — was adopted as this year’s theme song.
For those who tuned into last year’s tourney, Novak Djokovic of Serbia earned his 24th Grand Slam title. Meanwhile, American Coco Gauff — who won her first Grand Slam title at only 19 years old last year — joined LeBron James in serving as the U.S.’s flag bearers at this year’s Olympic games in Paris. This year’s games in Flushing, Queens mark the 144th annual US Open.
