‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’
Disney+’s Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is a whimsical and wondrous adventure set in a galaxy far, far away. The series follows a quartet of precocious kids who live in a part of the Star Wars universe we’ve never seen before: suburbia. When the restless Wim (Ravi Cabot-Conyers) discovers a mysterious hatch in the nearby woods, his overactive imagination assumes it’s a Jedi Temple. Soon, he and bestie Neel (Robert Timothy Smith) are fighting off the equally curious attentions of wannabe biker Fern (Ryan Kiera Armstrong) and her best friend KB (Kyriana Kratter). The problem? What Wim has actually discovered is a starship that takes the four kiddos on a wild ride across the universe. Now lost in space, they rely on the first ally they meet, Jude Law’s Jod Na Nawood, to guide them home. Star Wars: Skeleton Crew was developed by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford to evoke the adventure and camaraderie of classic ’80s kids films like The Goonies. With a murderer’s row of directorial talent — including David Lowery, the Daniels, Lee Isaac Chung, and Bryce Dallas Howard (to name a few) — Star Wars: Skeleton Crew recaptures the awe we all felt as kids first visiting George Lucas’s Star Wars universe.
